The Poetry Society of Colorado (PSC), a non-profit organization, was chartered in Denver in 1921. It has an eighty-eight year history of promoting the art of poetry in the metropolitan Denver area and throughout Colorado.

We are a society of creative writers devoted to the art of poetry, meeting monthly in workshops to hone our skills. Visitors are welcome at workshop meetings.

PSC sponsors a number of contests each year. The Quarterly Contests are open to members only. All other contests are open and are offered on a rotation basis. The Ann Woodbury Hafen Contest and the Remembering Poets Contest are offered on alternate years. The youth contests are open (no age limit).

PSC sponsors the Poetry to Go contest for youth ages thirteen through nineteen in the seven-county Denver Metro area serviced by RTD. We hold a poetry reading for the winners of the Poetry to Go contest, their friends, family and teachers to showcase their winning efforts.

PSC meets at the Café del Sol at West Sixth Avenue and Garrison Street on the third Saturday of every month, 9:30 a.m. to noon. Our Annual Awards Luncheon is held the third Saturday of June each year, which substitutes for our regular meeting. Visitors are welcome at all meetings.
